Heartstrings on Fire novel Chapter 428

Jared just shot a glance at Agnes, said nothing, and made a U-turn to drop her off at the Pritchard family's mansion. He didn't go in, though. Even though he'd been busy lately, he made it a point to visit her at the hospital. He even brought her meals three times a day.

Agnes had once turned him down, but Jared told her that if she didn't start eating properly, her health could take a turn for the worse. Truth be told, Agnes hadn't had an appetite recently. Everything she ate made her feel sick, and the only thing she could stomach was soup that Jared made himself. So, Jared started making her all sorts of nutritious soups that were easy to digest. Without him, her health would've already gone down the drain.

When she got out of the car, Agnes began to feel sick again. Jared patted her back while Agnes threw up a bit before getting out of the car. As she was getting out, Jared suddenly grabbed her arm. "Agnes, are you..."

Agnes frowned, "What's up?"

Something complex flickered in Jared's eyes, but was quickly hidden behind a calm expression. "Never mind. Just go on in."

Agnes went inside, thinking Jared's behavior was a bit weird.

As Agnes was heading upstairs, she bumped into Beatrice Pritchard.

Agnes didn't want to bother with her and just wanted to walk past. But as she got to Beatrice, she suddenly stuck out her foot, nearly tripping Agnes.

Agnes said coldly, "Beatrice, are you trying to make trouble?" Beatrice just smirked. "So, Jared dropped you off, huh, Agnes? Didn't think you two were still so close. Did you forget how your mom died?"

Beatrice's words felt like a punch to the gut, and Agnes was momentarily speechless.

Agnes' face went pale.

But Beatrice just fanned the flames, "Can't believe you can share a bed with the brother of your enemy. You don't seem to mind, but I'm embarrassed for you, Agnes. You're just a shameless and vain person."

Agnes grabbed Beatrice's chin fiercely, "You want to know what it's like to sleep with Jared? Let me tell you, it feels great. You want me to divorce him, Beatrice? Well, I'm not going to. What can you do about it? If I hear you bring up my mom again, I'll take your jaw off."

With that, Agnes squeezed hard.

Beatrice's jaw dislocated again.
