Agnes felt her head spinning, struggling to comprehend the situation.

She thought, "What on earth is Ryder doing? Why would he claim me as his girlfriend, especially in front of Jared?"

Jared's gaze bore into Agnes, his voice frosty. "Is he the boyfriend you mentioned before?"

Agnes suddenly remembered that she had once told Jared she had a boyfriend.

Before she could respond, Ryder had already draped his arm over her shoulder. "Uncle, I'm sorry for not telling you this earlier, but Agnes and I, we've already reconnected three years ago."
