Alyssa was clearly taken aback.
Her eyes were wide in shock when she saw Agnes.
Agnes was pretty used to getting that look.
So, in comparison, Agnes was as cool as a cucumber.
She knew what she was in for before she got here.
For Agnes, this was a mental wrestling match.
But they were nothing in comparison to the possibility of losing Nocturne.
Alyssa seemed to have an inkling of what was going on.
She didn't say a word, just cracked open the door to the study.
"Come on in," Alyssa's voice had settled down.
Jared made his way in and Agnes followed suit.
Tim was busy penning something behind his desk.
There was a stack of papers on his desk, each one was marked with the word "calm."
Looks like Tim was royally ticked off, and he needed to do this to keep his cool.
After Jared made his entrance, Alyssa went over to him, "Jared's back."
Tim didn't even glance up, just kept on writing.
The room was dead silent.
Everyone seemed to be waiting patiently for Tim to finish his calligraphy.
Only when he was done did Tim put down his brush and lift his head.
When he did, he saw Agnes.
But Tim had experienced lots in his life, so his face didn't change when he saw Agnes.
He didn't even bat an eyelid.
