"Are you awake already?" Alyssa asked in surprise.
Then, she turned her head and wiped the tears from the corners of her eyes.
Nocturne slowly sat up and rubbed his eyes. "Where am I? Who are you?"
Despite his cool demeanor, Nocturne was prone to bouts of sleepiness. When he was in Manhattan, Agnes would always take him around.
So, he was used to waking up and falling asleep in different places.
"My name's Alyssa, and this is my house," Alyssa was at a loss on how to explain her relationship with Summer.
Nocturne's voice was polite, "Hello, why am I here?"
Alyssa took Nocturne's hand, "You fell asleep. Your mom and dad are in the next room. They'll be here in a bit."
Nocturne looked surprised, "Dad?"
Alyssa, sensing Summer's confusion, asked, "Didn't Agnes ever tell you who your dad is?"
"I don't have a dad," Nocturne said calmly.
"How could you not have a dad? Your dad is Jared, he's just next door."
"Mr. Whitfield?" Nocturne looked puzzled.
Alyssa was at a loss for words.
She could see that Summer had met Jared, but he didn't know Jared was his father.
Alyssa sighed, "Agnes and Jared will explain it to you later, let's hang out for a bit and then we'll have lunch."
Nocturne obeyed, "Alright."
Alyssa was surprised by Summer's calmness.
He was only slightly surprised when he found out who his father was, and now he seemed quite calm.
He didn't seem surprised or curious at all.
He sat quietly, not at all like a four-year-old kid.
"Summer," a deep voice suddenly came from the doorway.
Alyssa and Nocturne both looked up.
Alyssa was surprised and stood up unconsciously.
Standing at the door was Ryder.
