Jared was, for once, at a loss.
Just the thought of Agnes left Jared feeling utterly helpless.
He was always a man of purpose, always sure of what he desired deep down.
But now, for the first time, he was lost.
For the past four years, he had but one goal - to find Agnes.
But now that he had found her, he was left in a state of confusion.
He had no idea where to go from here.
His feelings towards Agnes were always a mix of helplessness and a lack of control.
Jared sighed.
At noon, Leo brought him lunch.
Thinking that Nocturne would be waking soon, Jared instructed, "Have the cafeteria make some vegetable soup."
"Of course, sir."
Leo barely made it to the door when Jared called him back, "Never mind, I'll take him out for a meal."
Just as expected, Nocturne woke up shortly after.
Ryder had him on a new medication.
His sleeping periods had reduced to 16 hours.
However, the effects of the new medication were yet to be determined.
Nocturne woke up, "Mr. Jared, where are we?"
"We're in my office."
Despite knowing that Jared was his father, Nocturne still called him Mr. Jared.
Jared rose from his chair and said, "Let's go, I'll take you out for some food."
Nocturne took the initiative, "Mister, I want cake."
"Well, let's go get you a cake then."
"Mister, I want to eat cake with my mom, because today is my birthday."
Jared was taken aback.
Today was Christmas, and he had no idea it was also Nocturne's birthday.
