Candy handed over the stack of photos straight away, "Berlin, it's not that I deliberately dug up dirt on your wife. I happened to see her one day, she was playing a round with a man. After a bit of digging, I found out she and your butler are having an affair. I just couldn't bear to see them disrespect you right under your nose. So, I gathered this evidence. I'm only looking out for you, sir."
Berlin flipped through the photos, his face growing darker with each one. Finally, he tossed the stack away, scattering them all over the bed and floor. It was clear he had no idea about Laura's infidelity. Even though he has had lost of women, but he couldn't stand being cheated.
Candy kept fanning the flames, "Your wife is really surprising me since she is sleeping with a servant. I mean, one shouldn't poop where they eat, right? But if you think about it, their audacity to sneak around right under your nose is quite creative. Playing the good wife in public, but having a secret affair behind your back. Imagine, while you're enjoying your breakfast in the dining room, they might be flirting in the kitchen. Quite thrilling, isn't it?"
"Shut up!" Berlin roared, storming out of the room after hurriedly getting dressed, his was fuming. Agnes, watching all this unfold from behind a camera, knew this was just the first step.
After leaving Eden Nights, Berlin drove back home. Agnes had done her homework and knew he would be driving himself. After Berlin left, Agnes followed behind in another car.
Eden Nights was situated at the end of a long driveway, next to a large lake. As Berlin drove down the driveway, he realized something was wrong – the brakes were failing. His car, like a runaway train, plunged forward no matter how hard he hit the brakes.
Berlin was terrified. The driveway was on a slope, and he had been speeding since he left. Now, with the car moving so fast, any collision would be deadly. Though there was a lake nearby, there was a fence surrounding it. If he crashed into that, he could be seriously injured or worse.
But Berlin noticed there was a section of the fence that had been damaged. Without thinking, he steered the car towards it. His car flew off the driveway and into the lake. Berlin, having anticipated this, had already opened the car door before the vehicle hit the water. He quickly swam to the surface and made it to shore.
Agnes watched all this unfold from a distance. This was all part of her plan, including the damaged fence which served as Berlin's escape route. Berlin was always suspicious, and she knew he would figure out that something was amiss.
Eventually, someone stopped to check on Berlin, who had managed to borrow a phone. He didn't call the police, though. When his car was pulled from the lake, he inspected it and made a call. Soon, a black Bentley arrived to pick him up.
Berlin headed straight back to Thomas Mansion. It was 9 a.m. when Laura, preparing to leave the house, saw him return. She looked surprised, "Honey, weren't you supposed to be in Japan? Why are you back so suddenly? And what happened to your clothes? Why are you all wet?"
