"I was a victim as well, alright?" Avery sat down next to him and rubbed the baby's hand. "Your family was the one who forced me into carrying a lab-grown baby."
"Fine! You were a victim as well."
"Forget it. It's in the past." She changed the subject and said, "We will need to hire a nanny."
"Can't we take care of the baby ourselves?" Elliot did not think that their caring for the baby would be a problem as they had servants in the house.
"It's tiring to take care of the baby at night. We aren't young anymore, so if we stay up all night, we are going to be useless during the day." Avery knew that Elliot was far too excited to be a grandfather that he forgot how exhausting it could be waking up at night to care for the baby. "Let's hire a babysitter instead! Find someone younger and energetic."
Elliot nodded. "Sure. We can try sleeping with the baby tonight, though."
"Alright! We can try."

They surrounded the baby, showering him with attention while Hayden changed into his slippers.
"Hayden, you are back!" Layla hurried over. "Where did you go? You said you were coming home right away, and you've been gone for hours!"
"Aren't you going home?" Hayden asked.
"This is my home!" Layla said. "I'm staying here for a few days until the DNA test results are out."
"You just want to stick around for the drama!" Hayden said.
Layla gave up on hiding her true intention. "Hayden, that baby is yours, right? When did that happen? If that baby was born not too long ago and my sister carried him to term… that means you slept with her after New Year's..."
