"He invited you to have a meal in his office. Isn't that considered a date?" Courtney felt that their relationship, even if not romantic, was definitely not ordinary.
"It's just a meal, it can't be considered a date. Besides, it wasn't his idea to invite me for a meal. It was because I brought him my mom's homemade kimchi, and out of politeness, he invited me to eat. You don't know how awkward it was. There was only one serving of food on the table, and after I arrived, he asked his assistant to buy some food for me," Shelly recalled sheepishly.
"Hahaha! He accepted your kimchi, which means he still has some positive feelings toward you. Otherwise, he wouldn't have taken it. He must have had all kinds of delicacies, so he can't possibly be interested in tasting kimchi," Courtney said.
Shelly had a different opinion. "Is it possible that he has had too many delicacies and wants to try something different, like kimchi?"
"I understand now!" Courtney exclaimed.
Shelly was startled by her sudden outburst. "What do you understand?"
"Hayden has seen many wealthy heiresses and elegant ladies, so when he encounters a woman like you, from an ordinary background, he will be interested. The more you behave differently compared to those heiresses, the more interested Hayden will be in you." Courtney believed she had it all figured out. "Shelly! You have a great chance!"
Shelly was struck by her words. "Courtney, nothing will ever happen between Hayden and I. I'm not exaggerating when I say that every time I see him, my knees go weak..."
"Does your heart race, too?" Courtney continued to probe while eating her fruit.
Shelly nodded. "I was very nervous!"
"Nervousness is a good sign! That means you are deeply in love with him, and you have a crush on him!" Courtney, drawing from her years of experience in the field of love, concluded. "Trust me, you have fallen in love with him!"
Shelly stared at her friend in disbelief.
