Shelly grew nervous. "Mr. Golan, what are you trying to say? You're making me anxious," she said.
"As you should be," Eliam said cheerfully. "I noticed that you added a guy's number."
"Yeah! I'm not good at rejecting people face to face," Shelly confessed. "Usually, when someone adds me and tries to chat, as long as I'm not enthusiastic, they stop reaching out after a few attempts."
"Oh, what do you think of my boss?" Eliam asked.
Shelly's expression froze. "Mr. Golan, why are you suddenly asking this? Shall we talk outside?"
Eliam burst into laughter and walked with her outside.
"Ms. Taylor, I won't beat around the bush. My boss seems to have a slight fondness for you. Just a bit! He's always dedicated to work, and he's never had much interest in the opposite sex or been in a relationship. But now, he seems to like you a bit. Do you understand what I mean?" Eliam said.
Upon hearing this, Shelly's heart was thrown into turmoil, and she did not know what to say. "Did he ask you to talk to me about this?"
"No, no. Don't misunderstand. I just got tired watching you two, so I came to talk to you. My boss is quite reserved. He came by earlier, saw you exchanging contact information with another guy, and seemed upset over it, so he left," Eliam explained. "I think, if two people want to be together, someone has to take the initiative. My boss isn't the type to initiate things, and I don't think you are either... Seeing you two tip-toeing around each other like this makes me anxious."
"Mr. Golan, are you suggesting that I pursue your boss?" Shelly was very troubled. "Will he dislike me if I'm too forward? Honestly, I don't even know how to pursue boys."
"Just invite him out for meals more often! If he agrees, it means he doesn't dislike you," Eliam advised her. "Also, don't get too close to other guys."
"Are you sure your boss likes me?" Shelly felt a bit dazed, finding it all too surreal.
"He said it himself just now. Otherwise, why would I come to talk to you? He might still be around, so give him a call and ask him out for coffee," Eliam said, even gesturing with his eyes eagerly.
"Does your boss even like coffee?"
