After Hayden paid, he took the water from her.
"When you take a shower tonight, make sure your finger doesn't touch water," Shelly said as she looked at his injured finger. "The wound is quite deep. Even when I peel shrimp and get pricked, I have never bled like you did. You scared your subordinates."
"It doesn't actually hurt," Hayden said.
"Although it's a small wound, it's still better to take care of it. After all, we're in unfamiliar territory. If your mom finds out, she'll definitely be worried." Shelly continued walking with him. "Your mom said you've never been in a relationship before. Have you never encountered a girl who made your heart flutter?"
"I never thought about it before. Every day when I wake up, I'm faced with numerous challenges at work," Hayden revealed. "When I was very young, I set a goal for myself: to surpass my father's career."
Shelly looked at his face, shocked.
"When I was a child, I had a bad relationship with my father, so I was eager to surpass him. I thought I would be able to control my family if I managed that," said Hayden. "So I never had time for dates."
"I haven't been in a relationship either," said Shelly, blushing, "but it's because of my insecurities. I came from a small town and went to study in the big city. Even if someone pursued me, I never dared to accept their advances. I didn't even dare to try. I'm a very timid person."
"I couldn't tell that you were timid." Hayden recalled the first time they had been in a hotel together. "If I remember correctly, it was you who took the initiative that night."
Shelly's face turned red. "At that time, you were suffering and... I wanted to help you. Of course, it was also because I was enticed by your looks."
Hayden watched her.
"That was the most daring thing I've ever done in my life, but I don't regret it."
Her sudden candidness left Hayden speechless.
They continued walking for about ten minutes until they reached a commercial street filled with shops selling all sorts of things.
Shelly loved browsing through these kinds of small stores, so she grabbed Hayden's arm and entered a gift shop. "Let's go in and take a look!"
