"What is a domineering CEO novel?" Hayden asked curiously.
Seeing his genuine interest, Shelly explained to him, "It's a type of romance novel. In this genre, the male lead is usually a CEO, while the female lead is an average person. It's so that the average woman can identify with the female lead. Who wouldn't want a handsome and wealthy man to dote on them? When I was in middle school, many girls in my class read these novels, and I started reading them too. I mainly borrowed these books from my classmates."
"Instead of waiting for someone else to dote on you, it's better to improve yourself and take control of the situation," Hayden said.
Amused by his serious take on the matter, Shelly could not help but chuckle. "Actually, girls read these types of novels mainly to fulfill fantasies and pass the time. Once we graduate from university and start working, we rarely have time to read them anymore."
About half an hour later, it got colder, and Shelly was worried that Hayden might feel cold, so she pretended to be tired and suggested they head back.
When they returned to the campsite, everyone was engaged in lively activities, with some drinking, singing, and dancing.
"Do you have a toothbrush with you?" Shelly asked.
"I brought mouthwash," Hayden responded.
"I have some toothbrushes and toothpaste from hotels. I brought a few extras. Do you want one?"
Hayden nodded.
Shelly immediately went to her tent, opened her backpack, and retrieved a set for him.
"Do you always carry so many things with you when you go out?" Hayden thought her backpack a treasure trove that contained everything one could possibly need.
"I usually don't go on long trips. Since I graduated from university, I've mostly stayed in Avonsville. Maybe it's because I rarely go out that I tend to bring more things when I do." Shelly's lips curled up. "Let's go brush our teeth!"
"Hmm."
They went to brush their teeth separately.
After brushing their teeth and washing their faces, their eyes met.
Shelly was a little tired, and she guessed that Hayden was too, so she smiled and waved at him, saying, "Goodnight."
