His Ex-Wife Is A Billionaire? novel Chapter 75

A Rolls Royce rolled into the gates of Silverlake Harbor, the vintage-style buildings standing tall and majestic under the sunset.

The moment the gates opened, the servants were all abuzz.

"The Miss is back!"

Evadne and Cassius had barely stepped out of the car when they saw the butler and the servants lined up on both sides, bowing respectfully.

"Welcome home, Miss!"

"Miss, may you be forever happy and healthy!"

Evadne smiled in response, saying, "The same to you guys."

Suddenly, a familiar voice rang out.

"Evadne! You're finally back! We've missed you so much!"

Following the sound, she saw Suri and a short-haired woman rushing towards her. The woman was dressed in a purple satin shirt and black wide-leg trousers and was tall and beautiful. She was Emeric Ashbourne's last and youngest wife, Aviana Ashbourne.

"Suri, Aviana." Evadne smiled and greeted them with a warm hug.

Cassius watched this scene with mixed feelings.

The Ashbourne family was Skyrim's top family, with complicated relationships and numerous family feuds. When Aviana joined the Ashbourne family, all hell broke loose. That's why Evadne left home to become a doctor without borders, leading a tough and nomadic life. But these three women slowly melted her indifference with their sincerity, while Cassius shared many stories about them, helping Evadne gradually accept them.

The problem now was that if there was anyone to blame, it was their father, Emeric.

"Evadne, you've lost weight." Aviana looked at Evadne with a reproachful look. "Cassius, if you're too busy to take care of Evadne, just spit it out; we can help. You said you would help Evadne gain weight, but now she looks like a skinny monkey. You owe me an explanation."

Cassius chuckled, "My bad, my bad, I'll make it right."

Evadne chimed in, "Aviana, you know I'm the type who can eat and not gain weight. Cassius even brought his chief secretary, Jason, to take care of me. You know Jason's cooking skills; I'm well taken care of every day so you guys don't have to worry."

Aviana laughed in response, saying, "I don't buy it. Can Jason's cooking skills compare to Myra's? Myra has been busy preparing ingredients since she heard you were coming back. She's been in the kitchen all day, not even taking a sip of water. Your dad said it's like she's preparing for a state banquet, even more formal than entertaining foreign dignitaries."

Evadne chuckled, "Myra is taking it too seriously; I said a family dinner would be enough; it's all about the reunion."

"We all offered to help her, but she insisted on doing it herself because she said she doesn't trust anyone else's cooking skills."

Suri sighed lightly, laughing. "Myra may seem the gentlest, but who knew she could be so stubborn? She’s truly uncontrollable."

"Myra doesn't distrust you, Suri; she distrusts Aviana, right?"

Evadne giggled, "After all, after you burnt the pot four times, set off the fire alarm three times, and blew up the stove twice, she doesn't dare let you anywhere near the kitchen."

"Evadne, can you not always reveal my shortcomings? We're still friends, right?" Aviana raised an eyebrow, reaching out to tickle Evadne.

"Friends, the best of friends! Haha!"

They started fooling around like children.

Whenever Evadne thought about Myra Barlow Ashbourne, she would remember her days as Thaddeus's wife in the Abernathy family.

She lived like she was walking on thin ice for those three years, careful not to upset Thaddeus or the Abernathy family.

She only endured for three years, and it felt like she had been skinned alive. Myra had been there for twenty years; how did she manage?

Women shouldn't have to be so humble for men; they should be independent, strong, and beautiful, blossoming proudly like flowers in the snow, not wasting away in a mansion; it would be such a waste.

A large crowd gathered around Evadne, everyone happily accompanying her into the villa.

The evening breeze was refreshing, as was the moon’s crescent.

A Maybach quietly parked outside Silverlake Harbor, enveloped by the lonely night.

Gordon opened the car door, and Thaddeus got out of the car with his long legs, his deep eyes looking at the gate across the street.

"I've heard that Chairman Emeric has a penchant for vintage European architecture and has dozens of estates all over the country. Now that I'm here, it seems the rumors were true."

Gordon admired the elegant and classic architecture of Silverlake Harbor: "This is like paradise on earth; it's truly breathtaking. It even outshines the Windermere Estate."

Realizing he might have said something wrong, he quickly turned away and smacked his lips in self-reproach.

Thaddeus's eyes were dark, darker than the night sky, reflecting the brightly lit Ashbourne family. He could faintly hear the laughter and chatter, feeling as if his heart was submerged in a winter lake, the cold spreading throughout his body.
