Evadne just finished a dance, taking a bow with her dance partner. Even though it wasn't a formal stage, and just a private get-together, her graceful dance moves lifted the mood, making it feel like a top-notch ball.
Acacia, listening to the praises for Evadne, was green with envy. She thought of her own past talent in music and dance. She was a songbird and a dancing queen, bagging numerous awards. Later, while abroad, she was too busy chasing after men to satisfy her desires, living in the lap of luxury. Now, she might have improved her sex skills, but she had forgotten her talents.
"Thad, look at how amazing Evadne is. But don't you think it's inappropriate to dance like that in front of everyone, wearing so little clothes? I would die of embarrassment..." Acacia was chatting and sipping her coffee, but when she turned around, Thaddeus was nowhere to be found.
...
Thaddeus headed towards the corridor backstage. Despite trying to control himself, images of Ilana's enchanting dance kept popping up in his head, leaving him parched. He forced himself not to attribute this feeling to emotions. He thought it was just the anger from Ilana's constant challenges and deceptions.
Suddenly, Thaddeus heard a man's excited voice from the corner.
"The woman I danced with tonight has such a delicate figure. It's so thrilling! I've never touched a woman with such a slim waist in my life!"
These words were supposed to be compliments. But to Thaddeus, they were like a ticking time bomb, causing an immediate explosion.
The male dancer heard footsteps behind him, turned his head, and was punched in the face.
"Ah——!"
Thaddeus was a military man, and his punch sent the male dancer flying. The dancer fell to the ground, unable to move from the pain, screaming loudly.
"Do you think you can touch her whenever you want?" Thaddeus sneered, his voice icy cold, "Who do you think you are?"
"You...you're Mr. Thaddeus?!" The dancer was scared out of his wits, "Aren't you supposed to be marrying Ms. Acacia?! I...I didn't know that lady was yours..."
If he hadn't brought up Acacia, it would have been better. The moment he mentioned her, Thaddeus got even angrier.
"Thaddeus! What are you doing?!"
The man turned sharply, seeing Evadne and Camille approaching, his eyebrows furrowed. The dancer got up and ran to them, blood coming out of his mouth.
"Mr. Thaddeus, you're attacking people unprovoked at my party. This is too much!" Camille pointed at Thaddeus' face, seething with anger.
"I don’t like what he said." Thaddeus' gaze was cold and ruthless, and his fingers clenched. "The punch was to remind him. What he can say, and what he can't."
Evadne was stunned! In her mind, Thaddeus was always dignified and never got into conflicts with these nobodies. What happened today? Did he get off bed on the wrong side?
"What on earth is going on?" Camille glared at the male dancer.
"I...I didn't mean to offend Ms. Ilana... I just had a great time dancing with Ms. Ilana, and I was so excited that I called a friend... and bragged a little." The dancer seemed very nervous. "I didn't expect Mr. Thaddeus to hear, and he...he just..."
