Skylar held on tightly to Grayson's arm and said with difficulty, "Yes."

Grayson's eyes turned bloodshot and were filled with hatred as he gazed at Skylar. There was disappointment and disgust in his gaze. "If I went there much later, she'd be dead!"

What?

Skylar was shocked. How was it possible?

Skylar didn't quite understand. Mila had still been alright last night when she had cried for Grayson to accompany her over the phone. She had merely hung up the phone and that had led to a serious matter?

"I don't know."

"It was you who left her to die. Mila asked me for help as she was robbed and almost gotten raped. At the last moment, she called me but you answered the call. Not only did you not save her, but you also didn't call the police. If it weren't for her desperately resisting, she would have been raped. She is now in the ICU of the hospital and has just been rescued. When did you become so cruel?"

Grayson tightly grabbed Skylar's neck as if he wanted her to die with Mila.

This was not how it happened last night. How could it be possible that Mila had been raped? It was clearly a trap.

"She didn't ask for my help, nor did she get raped. The reason she called me was simply to let you go and accompany her."

Skylar stared into Grayson's eyes. He could not trust her. On the contrary, he could not wait for Skylar to die immediately.

"You're lying. Did you think Mila would hurt herself? Skylar, why are you lying?" Grayson shook Skylar off in disgust.

Falling down on the ground, she felt painful all over her body, but the pain in her heart would never heal. She cried feebly and hugged Grayson's leg, begging, "Grayson, would you believe me this time? I really didn't leave her to die."

Showing only his back to her, Grayson shook off Skylar's hand and said in a meaningful voice, "We've known each other for so many years. I don't hate you, but I've never loved you."

Grayson's words hit right at Skylar's heart. Grayson had never loved her.

With a dull thud, the door was slammed shut, and Skylar knew that Grayson would not come back.
