Heather’s expression changed. As a kickboxer, she knew how to exert strength well, but she had gotten so mad that she had accidentally cracked Hannah’s bones, which was not good for Heather.
Chump, on the sidelines, said, “Miss?”
He stood there calmly. Besides Heather, he did not care about anyone else, even someone who looked like her.
Speechless, Heather gazed down at the young woman lying on the floor and grew irritated, seeing how much she looked like her. “Carry her…”
Suddenly, a gleam dazzled in her eyes before she could finish instructing Chump to bring Hannah inside. She looked at the sparkle and saw a diamond ring on Hannah’s finger. The diamond was not big, but its glimmer had a dazzling effect.
The anger in her rekindled as she bent over and tried to remove it from Hannah. Although Hannah’s finger was slender, Heather had to tug it twice as the finger was curved, and its joint stopped it from coming out.
She grew even more infuriated. ‘This wretched girl has passed out, yet she’s holding her finger like that. It’s as if she’s fighting me!’
Heather changed her mind. “Wake her up with cold water! I still have questions for her. Does she think she can get away with it if she passes out?”
“Right away!” Chump hurriedly left and brought back a bucket of cold water, which he poured dispassionately onto Hannah. As the bucket of water was freezing, Hannah shuddered and regained consciousness.
She slowly opened her eyes and curled into a ball from the coldness. Yet to fully wake up, she did not know what had happened to her.
Hannah’s lips moved as she looked around in a daze and remembered what had occurred just now when she saw Heather sitting before her. Worse, the sharp pain on her shoulder reminded her of what was in store.
“H-Heather…” She saw what Heather was twiddling between her fingers and shouted, “My ring!”
She rubbed the base of her ring finger and felt nothing. It was supposed to be a token of their marriage, especially since Ralph had personally put it on for her. Hannah was distressed that her sister had taken it. Hannah had not worn the ring for long and blamed herself for being unable to keep it safe.
‘Heather took my earrings and now the ring. I don’t own many things. Must she take everything from me?’
“Your ring?” Heather raised her eyebrow and sneered, “How come I had no idea when you bought yourself a ring? Since when do you have money?”
“I…Hannah hesitated for a moment and looked at her sister. “Heather, please give it back to me!”
