Ralph rolled his eyes at the gatekeeper, but he had expected them to stop him.
He said, “Then, how can I go inside? I have some urgent matters to discuss with them. You can’t expect me to wait outside under the scorching sun, right? Can I enter if Alex grants me entrance permission?”
The gatekeeper was stunned by his suggestion. He did not quite understand what Ralph meant but insisted, “If Mr. Russell allows it, then we won’t stop you. However, Mr. Russell is not home.”
“Why are you such a knucklehead? Just because he isn’t in doesn’t mean I can’t call him!” Ralph took out his phone and called Alexander, “Hello, Alex. Why did you leave? Where’s my mother?”
Alexander glanced at Margaret, who was next to him, “She’s with me.”
“With you? I thought she said she’d wait for me, why did you leave without me?! Pass the phone to her!” Ralph complained, unhappy they left him behind.
Margaret noticed Alexander looking at her, so she asked, “What’s wrong?”
“Uncle Ralph said you were supposed to wait for him. Is that true?” He asked and handed the phone over to her.
Margaret slapped her thigh, realizing, “Oh, I’ve forgotten all about that! Yes, we were supposed to wait for him before leaving. I was so happy talking to you both that I forgot all about it!”
She said while gently tapping her head and sighing. Margaret took the phone and told Ralph, “I’m sorry. I forgot about you. Why don’t you go home on your own then?”
