Anastasia returned home joyfully and noticed that Maria was there again. She grew impatient seeing the miracle doctor with her aunt waiting for her.

‘Didn’t I tell her I don’t want to see him? Why can’t she leave me alone? If she continues like this, I wouldn’t want her to enter the house anymore.’

Although upset, Anastasia still greeted her aunt, “Hi, Aunt Maria.”

“Also, you’re always accompanied by a man of dubious background. Aren’t you afraid my uncle would get jealous?” She said half-jokingly on purpose.

Taken aback, Maria waved in embarrassment. “What are you saying? This is the miracle doctor, Mr. Fike, and you’ve met him! Besides, your uncle knows about me arranging for him to treat you. You enjoy joking around with me, huh?”

Maria took a step back and seized the chance to add, “Mr. Fike is so busy, yet he’s kind enough to come here with me to examine you. So, be nice and let him take a look at you, okay? Not only will you feel better when he cures you, but your father will also be happier, don’t you agree?”

She glanced at Austin while speaking, worried that Anastasia’s attitude would offend Austin. Maria thought he would still be upset, and it would be hard to invite Austin over, but he came to look for her instead and asked if she was free to visit the Rollins together.
