“What guinea pig? Why can’t I understand a word you say today?” Blinking, Fabian looked bewildered.

Maria said eagerly, “Didn’t I tell you that Tasia trusts Lily and goes to have her meals at the woman’s house every day? She thought Lily was a good person who wanted to help her lose weight!

“However, the miracle doctor told us that Lily is working with him at some lab and had only taught herself herbal medicine for a while. She lacks practical experience and uses Tasia as a guinea pig!”

“Tasia is such a silly girl for thinking Lily cares for her! Who would be truly good to her besides her own family? Who doesn’t put self-interest before everything in our society? No one will help her if there’s nothing to gain!”

Shaking her head, Maria remembered something and turned to Rhea as she said, “Fortunately, you’re smart and capable. If you were like that silly girl, I'd be worried sick!"

Rhea curled her lips. “You used to say she was pretty and smart when we were young.”

A look of embarrassment crossed Maria’s face. “I only said it to please her father! I explained this to you before, right? Why are you still holding a grudge? You’re my daughter. Of course, you’re my favorite!”

“So that’s why!” Slapping his thigh, Fabian caught on to what his wife had said. “Then I must tell Ron about it. Anyway, the Russell family is too much! How could they treat us like sh*t? It’s outrageous that Tasia is being treated as a guinea pig!”

“Yes, you must tell Ron about it. He must never give the contract to the Russells, considering what they’re doing!” Maria replied.

“I’m going back to my room.” Not interested in their conversation, Rhea turned and walked away.
