After not stepping out of the estate for many years, Dominic finally broke his rules for the mother-son duo today.
Dominic waved at Lily while she pulled her car over and was about to remove her seat belt. “No, no, park inside! It’s not safe outside.”
Lily was surprised.
“Grandpa, it’s safe. Bad guys are gone.” Galen leaned out of the window, excited that his mother had outmaneuvered the pursuers.
“Okay, okay, go inside first.” Dominic was shocked to see how damaged Lily’s car was.
Judging from its state, he could tell how dangerous it was. If his men did not arrive just in time, or if Lily did not know kickboxing and could not respond swiftly, things might have ended badly.
Dominic took Galen from Lily and carefully examined the little guy inside the house. He breathed a sigh of relief after noticing Galen had not suffered even a scratch. “Good thing you’re not hurt. Were you scared?”
Galen shook his head. “Nope!”
“Ha, you weren’t scared, but I was terrified!” Dominic patted his chest to show he was horrified.
The toddler giggled innocently. “Grandpa is a scaredy-cat!”
“Well, Grandpa is a scaredy-cat compared to you two, who dared to mess with people with guns!” Dominic looked at Lily. “Do you know who they are?”
Lily shook her head slightly and drank some tea to calm herself down. Looking back at the incident, she thought there was something fishy about it but could not figure out who the pursuers were.
