"Are you in…Kingsland’s city area?" Lily asked cautiously.
"No," Alexander answered her with certainty.
"Got it." She had already guessed that he would not be near the city. After all, if he had contracted the disease, it would be better to recuperate in a place far away from people. That was just a question to confirm her assumptions.
"Take care of yourself. The kids and I are fine. Don't worry!" Lily urged. She did not want to nag him anymore. What he needed the most right now was rest. It was heartbreaking to hear him cough and wheeze like that.
She was thankful that he was safe and that he had returned. It was a great relief for her. At least she could put her plans to fly to Burnwken to rest for the time being.
However, something happened to Edward. It was hard for her not to tell Olivia about it.
…
In life, the more one wanted to avoid something, the more it would show up. Olivia came early the following day. She brought a big backpack with her as she stood downstairs waiting for Lily.
Lily did not want to lie to Olivia, but she knew she could not hide from her forever. In the end, Lily bit the bullet and went downstairs. She was shocked when she saw Olivia carrying a backpack, looking at her eagerly. "Lily, after much consideration, I feel we should go to Burnwken together."
"Olivia…" Lily felt troubled.
