Rhea followed closely behind while Fabian and Maria got up, watching the two leave with mixed feelings. They wondered what plan their daughter had in mind.
They just hoped the secret Rhea was going to tell Cameron could save her from going to prison and that Cameron would leave the matter alone. The couple no longer cared about projects or businesses anymore. They just hoped Rhea could get out of this situation safely.
Anastasia was the only one looking toward the study with concern. Lily reminded her before this that Rhea was not as innocent as she portrayed. Lily was right about that, judging from how Rhea had been poisoning Anastasia since they were still teens. Rhea was a genius in the medicinal field, but she had an evil heart too.
Back then, Anastasia would bicker with Rhea from time to time. At most, she would get mad, think about ignoring Rhea forever, and stop going to her place. She had never thought about harming Rhea, but all these years, she suffered from obesity, anxiety, depression, hair loss, exhaustion, and whatnot, and it was all thanks to Rhea.
At this point, Anastasia could tell that Rhea still did not regret what she did and that she did not feel apologetic toward her at all. Now, Rhea was even trying to use some secret in exchange for Cameron’s forgiveness.
‘Would daddy let her go? He wouldn’t, right?’
Meanwhile, Cameron and Rhea entered the study one after another. Cameron turned on the lights and walked toward the center of the room before turning to look at Rhea.
Rhea closed the door after her once she entered the room. Then she locked the door and placed her ear on the door to listen for movements on the other side before looking at Cameron.
“What is it?” Arms akimbo, Cameron looked at her imposingly, assuming she would not be able to trick him no matter what she did.
Rhea was not in a rush to speak and took her time to look around the room. That was Cameron’s study room on the first floor, and it had a simple layout. There was only a small ventilation window, which remained closed. If he did not turn on the lights earlier, the room would be dark.
Everything had simple designs, from his desk to his bookshelf, but many books and documents were there. Rhea could tell this was where Cameron used to work at home. There were no entertainment facilities or a pantry in the room.
