‘I can understand that, but what about Alex?’
Although there were medical staff taking care of him and Greg was around, Lily was still worried as the outsiders had no idea how to deal with the virus. Fortunately, she could still use her phone.
For everyone’s sake, she could only follow the rules and nod. “I got it. I won’t leave and will stay right here.”
Dr. Blanc sighed. “I know I’m asking a lot from you and everyone else, but I hope you can all understand due to the unusual circumstances. I won’t be going home either.”
Lily gave him a slight nod and was about to leave when she thought of something and turned around. “Dr. Blanc, how long is the incubation period?”
“Based on what we know, it’s about seven days. However, since our data is not comprehensive with limited cases within the country, we’re unsure if it’ll be longer than seven days.”
‘I see!’ In other words, she could not leave the place for at least seven days.
Lily retired to her assigned bedroom and realized the place was small but decent since it came with necessities. It was just as Dr. Blanc said. There was also an attached bathroom for Lily to shower.
Lily supported her hips with her hands and sat down, her lower back feeling sore. She finally felt her exhaustion kicking in. She grew sleepy, probably because she finally started to relax.
She took out her phone, wanting to call and ask about Alexander’s condition, but before she could dial the number, her eyelids shut close, and she conked out as her head drooped.
After some time, the vibration in her hand jerked her awake. Dazed, it took her several seconds to orientate herself. She looked at her phone and saw it was a call from Anastasia. Lily rubbed her temples, propped herself up, and pressed the answer button. “Hello?”
