Lily had to admit that although she appeared calm throughout this period, her heart was always racing. If this continued, she might collapse at some point.
However, right on the verge of all this, he came. His presence reassured her.
As long as she could see him every day and exchange a few words, as long as she could see his calm face sitting peacefully on the bed, her restless heart could calm down. His presence allowed her to be brave.
"How do you feel today?" She asked, sitting down on the edge of the bed and habitually reaching out to feel his pulse.
Alexander seemed used to this as he stretched out his arm and quietly allowed her to feel his pulse.
Lily was gentle as she pressed his wrist. She seemed focused as she quietly felt his pulse beat. After a few minutes, she retracted her hand and looked into his eyes. Then she told him to stick his tongue out.
Once she was done, she asked, "Is today's blood test result out?"
She already knew the general situation after taking his pulse. However, as this experimental center included both modern and traditional medicine, they collected data from two aspects. They needed to look at the results of blood tests alongside other machine tests.
"No. It'll probably come out by noon," Alexander replied.
"You're a little anemic, but it's a normal reaction after being sick for so long. I've added some blood-enriching herbs to your medication. The taste will be a little different once I've added that in. Remember to take it."
"Got it, Dr. Christian." He gently tickled her palm and smiled. Alexander then asked, "Oh, how's Greg?"
"He doesn't have any symptoms. He's in the isolated observation room and can leave in a few more days if the results come back clear," Lily replied.
