"Dashiell Stone!" Edmund stopped and turned to face him solemnly. "You made a mistake in the data last time. I hope you won't repeat it!"
A trace of impatience immediately flashed across Dashiell's face when Edmund mentioned the mistake. Dashiell sighed and put his arm around Edmund's shoulder. "I know, I know! It's just a tiny mistake! You can tell at a glance that I didn't do it on purpose!
“Dr. Morris, you're the best. What about a drink as a toast to how good you've been to all of us?"
"No drinking during working hours!" Edmund frowned. "Where do you even get the alcohol?"
The department prepared every meal here, and they could not go home to drink at will. Where were they going to have a toast?
Dashiell burst out laughing when he saw the look on Edmund's face. "I'm just kidding! Of course, I don't have any alcohol on me. It's a joke! I mean, in the future, once this is all over. We must go out to drink as a celebration. It's my way of thanking you!"
"It's part of my duty." Edmund heaved a sigh of relief when he heard it was just a joke.
He was about to turn to leave when Dashiell blocked him again with a smile. "Dr. Morris, can I ask you a question?"
"What is it?" Edmund answered coldly.
He was in a rush, yet Dashiell kept bugging him. Although he was starting to lose his patience, Dashiell was still his colleague. On top of that, Dashiell had just returned from studying abroad and had picked up their culture. Therefore, he could be more outgoing than the people here.
