The last time they met was over a meal, and although none of them brought it up, they both knew what had happened. She thought they would no longer be friends after what had happened, and he would no longer search for her. Unexpectedly, here he was again.
"I was just testing the waters in front of you," Mike laughed at himself before sighing. "Although I know I can never get past you. I'm sorry about that."
"Mr. Corden."
Once Alexander had settled the hospital procedures, he came out and noticed that Mike was with Lily. Therefore, Alexander quickened his pace and rushed over.
His tone was polite, but his face was stoic and unkind to the eyes at first glance.
"What are you doing here?" He asked it coldly, completely losing the enthusiasm and friendliness he had before.
Of course, this was all within Mike's expectations. A bitterness flashed across his face as he frowned and said, "I know what I did was wrong, and I'm sorry. I don't expect you to forgive me, but... I'm here today because I have something important to tell you."
"Is this actually important, or are you trying to set us up again? Mike, you and Alex are old friends who have worked together for many years. Do you think he's so easy to deceive? Or do you think that I will trust you again?" Lily snapped coldly.
"I don't expect you to forgive me or trust me, but after thinking about it, I still feel like I should tell you how serious this is. This organization is far more terrifying than you imagined. I'm not trying to scare you!" Mike said it with a grave look. He seemed sincere and not like he was lying at all.
However…
"Sorry, we're not interested!" Alexander put up one hand to stop him and held Lily's waist with the other as he ushered her forward, not in the least interested in what Mike was saying. "Please don't get in the way!"
Mike, who had been pushed aside, did not expect them to ignore him. He turned around and looked at the two before raising his voice to call out, "Alexander! If someone kidnapped Galen, what would you do?!"
