His Secret Spoiled Wife (Lily and Alexander) novel Chapter 1992

Lily saw a man in a beige suit leaning on an exquisite cane and smiling at her. The man had golden curly hair and blue eyes, appearing to be in his thirties. Lily would have thought he was a gentleman if she had met him elsewhere.

The two guards snapped to attention and saluted the man when they saw him. No one cared about the doctor or the chaos; order had seemingly restored itself due to the man’s appearance.

Even the doctor who Lily held hostage stopped screaming.

“Good day, Mrs. Russell.”

Lily narrowed her eyes. “You’re their boss? The organization’s leader?”

The man smiled and gave no verbal reply. He only waved off the others, signaling them to stand down.

“Mrs. Russell, you just wanted to talk, right? Why don’t you let that innocent man go?” he said.

Lily chuckled mockingly. “So you guys know it’s wrong to hurt innocent people, huh?”

Immediately after, she pushed the doctor away, setting him free. She simultaneously threw the needle, which pierced into a sponge pad inside the medical box with a twang. The doctor gulped and subconsciously touched his neck as he looked at the vibrating needle.

However, the mysterious man simply waved them off. The doctor and nurses immediately took their things and hurried away. Now that others had backed out of the room, the two guards remained outside the doorway, ready to charge back inside if Lily were to endanger the man.

The man smiled at her, but Lily’s gaze remained on the two guards outside. The man looked over his shoulder and chuckled after seeing Lily’s reaction. He gestured for the guards to close the door with a wave.

Unexpectedly, the guards remained still, probably alarmed by what Lily did. When the mysterious man dropped his smile and stared coldly at the guards, the duo lowered their heads and shut the door.

Only Lily and the man remained in the room. The man turned to look at Lily. He looked ruthless and much more solemn without his smile.

“Mrs. Russell, your actions today were rash and unwise. It’s so unlike you,” the man said, almost regretful.

Lily snorted. “So what does it take to be like me? Let you all control me and be a good little puppet?”

After a pause, she added, “Oh, I’m sorry, I doubt you know what a puppet is. Let me give you an example. How about that ‘boss’? He’s your puppet, isn’t he?”

The man did not get upset and simply quirked his brows as he nodded. “Well, if you put it that way, yes.”

“Since we’ve met, let’s cut to the chase. What the hell do you want? I’m sure you didn’t lock me up here just to let me show you the lab results. You’re… biding your time, aren’t you?” Lily asked thoughtfully, making her guess.
