“I-Is that…” Jenny still found it unbelievable even though the answer was right before her eyes. “I-It’s you?!”
“What’s wrong? Why can it be me?” Lily felt amused by her reaction. She might have considered telling Jenny about this earlier if she knew how interesting Jenny’s reaction would be.
“No. That’s not it. I-It’s….” Jenny found it difficult to accept this sudden turn of events. “Is it genuinely you?! Didn’t the rumors say that…”
“Lily and Mr. Russell visited me at the hospital that day, but all my attention was on my mother at that time. There’s a problem with the angle in this photo. It's an optical illusion due to misplacement. That’s why it caused such a misunderstanding,” Olivia explained. She felt sad again at the mention of her mother.
“Oh right, it’s as you say if I look at it this way!” Jenny felt there was indeed a problem with the angle of the photo after scrutiny. “These reporters are so clumsy. They didn’t get the facts right before spreading gossip. I almost made a joke out of myself!”
Lily gently placed her hand on Olivia’s shoulder, trying to comfort her.
Even though her mother’s incident caused her to feel sad, many days have passed since then. Olivia had learned how to stay strong. She only felt a little sad and did not immerse herself in grief.
Lily did not understand why Brittany misunderstood the person to be Olivia. However, she could somewhat understand it after she saw the photo. It seemed like Olivia took the blame for her this time.
“You hid this secret so well!” Jenny slapped Lily’s shoulder after she understood the whole matter.
“When did you get together? Why did you not tell me?! Oh, you knew about it, too? When did you know? How could both of you hide it from me?!” Jenny was angry and crossed her arms.
