Kingsland was quite a distance away from Brown City. They would take the plane to Brown City, then rush to the Lodge Family’s residence immediately after.

They hurried to the airport in Kingsland. Before boarding the plane, Lily called Justin, and she could feel that he was much more silent than usual. Upon knowing she was going home, he rejected her right away. “You don’t need to come back. Just continue with whatever you’re doing.”

“Justin?” Apart from being bewildered, Lily was mad at him too. “How can I not return home at such a time? Grandpa was doing fine. How did he pass away so suddenly? What happened?”

Lily could understand Justin’s reason for stopping her from coming home if it was in the past. However, their grandfather had passed away. How could she not return home? Lily turned to look at the man beside her. “Alex is coming back with me too.”

“That’s great.” She could hear Justin’s sigh of relief before continuing, “Be careful on the road. Also, come back home directly and don’t make any stops on the way home.” After giving Lily some reminders, Justin hung up.

Lily was stuck in her thoughts for a long time, pondering over Justin’s words. Something about him felt off to her.

“What’s wrong?” Alexander asked.

Shaking her head, she replied, “I don’t know. Something doesn’t add up, but I can’t pinpoint it. Justin initially stopped me from returning but agreed to it later.”
