“N-No, no, no. We’re not.” Hannah waved her hand and looked toward Ralph. “I don’t like diamond rings.”
Her words stunned him, and after looking at her for a moment, he finally came to his senses. “Oh right! You practice kickboxing…”
He paused and looked at the sales advisor before he agreed, “It’s indeed not that suitable.”
“What about a necklace then? We can get a diamond necklace for you too.” he continued.
The sales advisor was smiling from ear to ear. “We just received several diamond necklaces of the season and it fits your style well. Would you like to try it?”
“I actually don’t like diamonds,” she whispered.
To Hannah, diamonds were merely stones, and they held no value to her. In fact, she liked the pearl bracelet, but it made her uncomfortable wearing it because Ralph actually bought it for Heather, and not her.
“What do you like then?” Ralph asked patiently.
“I…” She did not know what she liked as well.
Since she was younger, she did not have the right to choose the things she liked. She glanced around the store and finally, her gaze landed on a section of the counter.
Following the direction of her gaze, Ralph came to realize something. “You like earrings, don’t you?”
“I don’t. I’m just looking around.” Subconsciously, she rubbed her earlobe. How would she be able to wear them? She did not even have pierced ears.
The sales advisor seemed to have noticed her concern and said, “The earrings these days have the classic type for pierced ears, as well as the clip-on type as well. You don’t need to have pierced ears to wear them.”
“Really?” Hannah asked in surprise.
Smiling, the sales advisor nodded and then took two pairs of earrings for her from underneath the counter. “This is the clip-on type. You may try it and see if it is to your liking.”
