"There is nothing to regret." He hugged her gently from behind with his palms covering her
belly. "Only you guys are the most important people to me now."
In terms of blood relationships, the Russell family was indeed very close. They were also his family, but since he was a child, he did not feel any warmth from them. The only little bit of warmth he felt was also because of his efforts. Only then his grandfather acknowledged his existence.
What the members of the Russell family did later for wealth and power disappointed him to the core. Now, only the people in front of him were the most cherished.
Lily was about to say something else when his cell phone rang.
"Hello?"
She did not hear him say anything, but his face became more serious, and he unconsciously relaxed his hand that held Lily. Lily glanced at him and got up to pour a glass of water so he could talk on the phone.
When she was back after drinking water and resting for a while, Alexander had finished talking on the phone, and he looked at her with hesitation.
"What?"
"I'm going back to the mansion tomorrow," he said.
"You changed your mind?" Lily thought he had changed his mind and planned to invite the Russell family to the wedding banquet.
"No, there is something else." He said while shaking his head, "You should rest at home since the wedding is almost ready, so don't go out anymore. If you feel bored, let Olivia come over to accompany you."
His words made Lily feel very strange. She felt that his words meant something else.
"I might be a little busy these two days, and when it ends, I can spend all the time with you," Alexander said thoughtfully as he patted her shoulder lightly.
