This man had a strong presence. Heather had seen all kinds of men and had dealings with many of them, but not one was like him. Even from afar, she could feel his presence, and he was the center of attention in a room full of people. She narrowed her eyes at him, and for some reason, she had developed an interest in him.
Alexander had, of course, heard of Heather’s name. The Riggs family was secretive and had always been low-profiled until Heather took over as head of the family. They became stronger to the extent of becoming one of the stronger families in the martial art scene.
The Riggs family had also expanded their wealth and connections in the business industry. The eldest daughter of the Riggs family was known to be a genius in kickboxing, and she had already managed to defeat numerous well-known fighters.
However, the family was too powerful, so they also made enemies all around. The family had to face numerous challenges proposed by fighters every year. Thus, Heather being here and choosing Ralph as her future partner was no coincidence, nor was it because of love.
Ralph was only interested in Heather’s wealth and power. On the other hand, Heather…was she interested in the Russell family? Ralph was not an important figure in the family, so why him? She should have chosen him if she was interested in their family’s wealth and power. Was it because she knew that he would not play into her hands that why she picked Ralph over him?
Alexander could not help but wonder about her true intentions. She had instructed the Light-Shadow Killers to visit the Russell estate yesterday, and she showed up personally today, asking to move into the house. She had a hidden agenda behind her intention to marry into the family.
“Why are you still here?” Ralph asked as he followed Heather’s gaze and saw that she was looking at Alexander. Ralph’s heart skipped a beat in panic. He intentionally prevented Heather from meeting Alexander as he worried she would change her mind. He would not be able to compete with Alexander.
When Heather turned toward him, he quickly smiled charmingly and acted like nothing was wrong, “I’m sorry, I forgot to introduce you. This is my nephew, Alexander. Alexander, this is your future aunt.”
Alexander walked down the stairs toward them and looked at her. Then, he extended his hand toward her, “Ms. Riggs.”
“You should call her aunt instead of Ms. Riggs. We’re getting married soon, wait, right…” He suddenly recalled, “My nephew’s getting married too, but they’ve already registered their marriage. I think their wedding ceremony coincides with ours.”
“Oh, really?” Heather smiled, took Alexander’s outstretched hand, and shook it.
Ralph intentionally shared this information to prevent Heather from being interested in Alexander. When Ralph noticed their handshake, he felt slight discomfort.
Heather’s hand was slender and soft, but when their hands met, Alexander could feel her strength, especially her fingers. They may look long and slim, but they felt like steel. It was a good thing that Alexander had been working out, and he had also learned some self-defense skills, so with the strength she exerted, it was not enough to hurt him. This may also be just a test, and she did not exert her full force.
Ralph could not tell that this was a test between two dominant personalities. Instead, he only noticed they had held hands for a long time. He was only worried that they were starting to be interested in each other. In a moment of rash, he stepped forward and separated their hands forcefully, “Alex, don’t you have to go back to the office? You should leave now, don’t keep those important matters waiting!”
He threw his hand over Alexander’s shoulders and walked him outside. When they got to the car porch, he warned Alexander, “Ms. Riggs and I are going to get married soon. I suggest you don’t try anything funny and keep your hands to yourself!”
