However, it seemed like her father was right.
“Of course, I love the gifts you’ve given me too. I love everything!” Lily knew that Lisa was joking, so she said smilingly, “Come over here and have a seat. What would you like to drink? How about some juice and coffee?”
Lily suggested, then told Nick, "Since you have allergies, you need to tell me what foods you can't eat so that I can make sure that they aren’t added to our meals."
“Okay, thank you,” Nick said politely.
“I’m surprised that you brought Nick along,” Lily said.
“Well, I had no other choice. His dad had something to do, so he asked if I could babysit Nick for a day.” Lisa sighed in defeat.
She and Nick actually got along great, especially after what transpired at Westwood the last time. Lisa felt sorry for the boy and occasionally called to check in on him. For this reason, Mike sometimes asked her if Lisa could watch Nick for a day or two. In return, Mike would share his business resources and connections with her.
Lily nodded, asking, “Are you saying that Mr. Corden is also here in Sapphine City?”
“Uh-huh!” Lisa nodded and took a sip of her coffee. "Given the length of his stay, he’d have no trouble making it to your wedding. Right, didn’t you tell me that you’re pregnant? I see no difference at all!”
Lily rubbed her stomach with her hand, feeling the magic of a life growing inside her. “Naturally, there’s no difference because the fetus is still under three months.”
Even though there were no changes in her physical appearance, she could still feel her body changing. Sometimes, she would feel drowsy or even sad despite not being an emotional person before the pregnancy. Aside from that, she also noticed a boost in her energy and strength.
Though she would feel drowsy, her energy level was always good when she was awake. It was as if her baby was giving her strength. She could even lift heavy objects easily, but if Alexander saw her doing it, he would panic and make sure she stopped immediately. He was careful to ensure that she did not have to carry anything, even a stool.
Thank goodness Alexander had been busy lately. She would probably grow tired of his worrywart demeanor if he were always around her.
“Lily, are you having a baby?” Nick blinked at her and asked curiously.
“Yeah, in a couple of months, the baby will arrive. Which do you prefer? A baby boy or a girl?” Lily smiled and asked.
"I like them all," he said shyly, staring at Lily's tummy.
“Do you want to feel the baby?” Lisa asked as she noticed his eager expression.
“Can I really?” He asked with excitement.
“Of course you can! However, the baby is still tiny. You may not be able to feel anything,” Lily explained.
