As if sensing Fade's gaze, Clayton suddenly turned his head and looked in that direction.

Fade was not in a hurry to withdraw his gaze. Instead, he suppressed his divine soul and revealed a curious expression.

Clayton's gaze swept across Fade and the other competitors, but that was it.

Most out of the hundred or so of the competitors were focused on looking at the Imperial City figures. Hence, Fade's gaze was buried amongst them.

A deep noise sounded. The crowd fell silent and looked over to the sound.

A group of Taeyoon Guards dressed in red armor were marching over in a uniform fashion.

All of the guards were at least at Stage 7 of Soul Refine Realm. They were definitely not weaker than the present candidates.

It was obvious that they were elites of Taeyoon Guards. Furthermore, the person they were protecting was none other than the young master of Taeyoon Domain, Lukas.

Dozens of Taeyoon Guards entered the arena and surrounded the platform.

Then, a burly man about 6 and a half feet tall escorted a young man in a bright golden robe out with a serious look on his face.

When Clayton and all the other guests saw this, they stood up politely and greeted him.

"Greetings Mr. Van and Mr. Yoon."

When Fade heard these two names, he instantly combed through the information he had gotten from Myriad Treasures Hall in his mind. He quickly identified who the two distinguished gentlemen were.

The young man dressed in gold was none other than Lukas, the young master of Taeyoon Domain.

On the other hand, the burly man in front of him was Blythe Yoon. He was the second commander of the Taeyoon Guards. His position was second only to Callan Kwan.

Callan was responsible for protecting the governor of Taeyoon Domain, Roscoe Yan.

Blythe's appearance was enough to show how highly Lukas was valued by Roscoe.

With a smile on his face, Lukas nodded and greeted the guests present. Finally, he smiled at Clayton and said, "Mr. Clayton, you're too polite. Thank you for all the hard work you've put into this competition."

"It is my honor to be able to carry out my duties for you. No thanks are needed. " Clayton smiled and bowed deeply.

Lukas waved his hand. After which, he walked to the high platform and took his seat.

The other guests also took their seats.

Then, Lukas' gaze swept across the crowd and looked towards the hundred or so competitors who had been registered. He then said to Clayton, "Mr. Clayton, let's begin!"

Clayton nodded and immediately reported, "Your Royal Highness, there are a total of 123 people who have been enrolled."

"In the preliminary selection, I will divide them into 12 groups of 10. Two winners will be selected from each group. Following which, the remaining 3 candidates will go through a final round of assessment to decide whether they are worthy of advancing to the next round or not. Then..."

Without waiting for Clayton to finish speaking, Lukas waved his hand and interrupted him. He said, "That sounds like too much trouble. Since you've already split them into groups, there's no need for any additional assessments."

"But then three candidates will be left out. I..." Clayton was at a loss.

Lukas waved his hand and said, "That won't be a problem."

After that, he looked at the group of contestants. He pointed at a few of them and said dismissively, "Get this guy and that one off."
