Summer turned her head away and denied, "He wasn't looking for me."
Jessica said with contempt, "If it wasn't you, then who else? Me?"
"Perhaps," Summer said indifferently.
Jessica was speechless.
Leonardo glanced in Summer's direction before continuing to push Michael forward. After giving a few instructions to Tim, he sat down.
Tim gave the opening remarks and then announced the start of the party. After he finished speaking, he noticed Summer.
So, he turned around and whispered to Leonardo, "Mr. Emerson, Mrs. Emerson is also here."
"So what? It's none of my business." Leonardo took a glass of champagne and lowered his head, his tone extremely indifferent.
A voice sounded in Tim's head, "Men never say what they mean when they are jealous."
Suddenly, a commotion came from the other side of the hall.
Although it wasn't as big as when Leonardo had just arrived, it couldn't be ignored.
"Who is it?"
"I heard it's Mr. Emerson fiancee!"
"Although there has always been news about this, Mr. Emerson has never confirmed it. They haven't held an engagement banquet."
"How could it be fake? It is said that they even have a daughter..."
"Who said that? Really?"
Summer tilted her head and listened to the few women chatting beside her.
When she heard what they were talking about, she sneered.
Jessica did not notice what those women just said. Seeing that Summer was not herself, she asked, "What's wrong?"
"Amber is here." Summer put aside the champagne in hand and adjusted her dress, saying, "I'll go fix my makeup."
"Together?"
"No, it's alright."
Summer got up and went to the bathroom alone.
She stood in front of the mirror and carefully freshened up. After making sure that her face was perfect, she took her bag and walked out of the bathroom.
However, she didn't expect that she would meet Stanley the moment she stepped out.
"Summer?"
Stanley saw her first, so he naturally stopped her.
Summer turned around and paused for a moment before saying, "Just arrived?"
"Yeah. I didn't see you in the banquet hall just now. I thought you weren't here." Stanley quickly stepped forward and went to catch up with Summer. Then, he paced with her and walked slowly.
"I just went to the bathroom."
They walked side by side to the banquet hall. When they returned to the hall, they found the place was even more crowded. The guests gathered in groups and whispered to each other.
