"I… Um…"
Yasmine stammered for a long time, but she couldn't think of anything to say. Finally, after some silence, she said, "I'm expressing my concern in a platonic way. I didn't mean anything by it."
"You might not have meant anything, but what will the others think when they see the way you're behaving?" Ivor lectured her solemnly. "I'm going to remind you again, Yasmine. Boyd's a married man. You have to keep a distance from him if you want to keep your reputation intact."
"I'm just expressing some concern. How's that going to ruin my reputation?" Her brows furrowed. "You're making it sound more serious than it actually is."
"You don't get it yet, but you will in due time," Ivor said.
He looked at Yasmine and was about to say something, but Yasmine immediately covered her ears, as if she didn't want to listen to him anymore.
"That's enough. I get it. You don't have to say it again. I'm going to keep a distance from Boyd!"
With that, she bolted out of the room in a huff. She ran to the door and almost crashed into Floyd, who was coming inside to discuss something with Ivor.
He ducked out of the way in time to avoid it happening.
He saw her grim expression and asked in a concerned tone, "What's the matter, Ms. Yasmine?"
"It's nothing." She didn't tell him anything. She didn't even stop as she left the room.
Floyd watched as she left and scratched the back of his head, feeling confused.
‘What on earth is that? Is it because of something Ivor said to her? Is that why she looked the way she did?'
