Guilt formed in Falcon’s eyes when he saw the apparent concern in Bonnie’s texts. He always thought Bonnie valued Collin more and took his side no matter what happened. Finally, Falcon realized she showed them equal value.
Although Bonnie entrusted the organization to Collin, she always remembered Falcon. She knew Falcon was impulsive and occasionally checked in with Collin, even asking the latter to look after Falcon.
Falcon realized he had been petty and narrow-minded. He looked up at Bonnie and began to tear up as he stammered, “Chief, I— I don’t—”
He wanted to apologize and admit his mistakes, but his last shred of pride did not allow it. Moreover, he thought apologizing would not help after what he had done.
Bonnie saw through him, and an inexplicable emotion flashed in her eyes. She said, “That’s enough. Since you’ve caused us a lot of trouble, you must accept your full punishment. We won’t go easy on you.”
Falcon lowered his head, showing he had nothing to say about the punishment.
Bonnie added, “However, I have to tell you something.”
Falcon froze, fearing Bonnie would drop another bombshell. “Wh-what is it?”
She patted his shoulder and said, “You don’t have to worry about your family. Your actions had nothing to do with them, so I’ll leave them alone. They’ve been members of the organization before you betrayed us, and that won’t change. I’ll treat them like my own and ensure they live good lives.”
Falcon’s regret intensified when he heard that. He thought he was an orphan long ago, but one day, Bonnie said she had a surprise for one of his birthdays. She led him somewhere, and several people went to hug him.
Those people were overwhelmed with joy and smiles. Falcon did not understand it and even felt a little uncomfortable then. Afterward, Bonnie told him that they were Falcon’s parents and siblings.
That day, he realized he was not an orphan. He learned that human traffickers had kidnapped him during his childhood when he was on a trip with his parents. They had been searching for him since then.
When Bonnie thought about it, she devoted herself to searching for Falcon’s parents. Ultimately, fate brought them together and made it possible for Falcon to reunite with his family.
After that, he occasionally spent time with his parents and siblings. He could sense they loved him profoundly, and he finally knew what it was like to have a family. It was something he had never experienced before.
