Chapter 136
Hadwin thought the changes were extraordinary. He even wondered if he had made a mistake and began to realize that Bonnie might possess remarkable talent in business.
As the crowd dispersed, he looked at the departing Bonnie and quickly called out to her, “Bonnie, I must admit that I underestimated you. You’re much more competent than everyone thinks.”
Trina felt a sense of unease when she heard that.
Hadwin added, “Bonnie, I know you don’t have a proper place to stay and no source of income since your family disowned you. Attending university is expensive, right? Since that’s the case, I suggest you work in my company as my secretary. I’ll pay you seven hundred dollars a month.”
Bonnie was dumbfounded as she looked at Hadwin.
“What, is my offer too low? Money isn’t easy to come by, Bonnie. Not all Pyralis University graduates can find good jobs. Besides, you have no work experience at the moment. I’m offering you a pretty generous amount,” Hadwin continued to persuade Bonnie.
“You should get your head checked. You might have a concussion,” Bonnie replied in exasperation.
“Okay, how about I pay you fourteen hundred? It’s double my initial offer, but you’ll need to put in the corresponding effort. Besides your secretarial duties, you’ll also revise some of the company’s proposals.
“Also, I can rent you a house since you probably don’t have a place to stay now. Now that you’re studying at Pyralis University, I can provide you with a scholarship. Still, I’ll be investing a lot in you. Once you graduate, you can only join my company.
“If you want to switch jobs down the line, you’ll need to repay me ten times, no, a hundred times. That’s fair enough, right?” Hadwin felt he was being generous by offering such things.
‘Bonnie should be grateful and maybe even throw herself into my arms. Well, I’d be in a dilemma if she did that. I’d be torn between choosing my fiancee and Bonnie.‘
“Gosh, can you stop being such a pest? It’s wild how shamelessly bold you can be sometimes. You show such poor conduct, too! You own a small and pathetic company, yet you want me to be your secretary. You’re reaching,” Bonnie vented her frustrations.
She could not bear Hadwin’s pitiful antics. If she were anywhere else, she would have done much worse to him long ago.
“Haha!” Someone in the crowd laughed, causing Hadwin to turn red with anger.
