Chapter 252
Before Bonnie could speak, Ivor said, “Don’t say it. I’m not letting go of your hands.”
It was as if those words filled Bonnie’s heart with warmth. She felt a sense of security as she looked at his gritty expression. Since she had always been independent and tough, r she had never needed anyone to make her feel this safe.
It felt good to have someone to depend on.
Vera noticed Bonnie ignoring her. The former roared, “I won’t ask you again, Bonnie! Are you going to sell me the ginseng or not?! If you don’t, I’ll tell your countryfolk parents that you left a poor old lady to die!”
Although Bonnie rarely got angry, she was furious this time. “My parents raised, educated, and cared for me whenever I got sick. They’ve never failed to give me birthday presents every year. You’re no one to me.
“How dare you threaten to disturb their peace! If you so much as text my parents, I’ll destroy your entire family.”
“Hmplr, as if! Who do you think you are? Funny how you think you can destroy us.”
Suddenly, Xavier approached and said, “Just say the word, Bonnie. I’ll wipe the Shepards from Pyralis.”
Vera was shocked while Gresham stood up. He was terrified, hastily saying, “Please look past this, Xavier. My wife is just a commoner. She doesn’t consider things before speaking.”
Xavier retorted, “What are you talking about? She’s trying to buy my billion–dollar ginseng for a measly hundred grand. If anything, she’s trying to take advantage of me. How dare you say consider things before speaking?”
