everyone got quiet. Most looked at her as if she were crazy.

Bonnie glared at Trina, saying, “Since you stole a student’s belongings, I can put you
behind bars. Not only that, you even tried to frame me for it. That means you’ll spend more
time in jail. I wonder how many years you’ll face.”
Trina gulped, terrified. At that moment, an older man’s voice sounded, “Trina can’t go to
prison.”
Bonnie glanced toward the voice and saw an older man with gray hair. Meanwhile, Trina
knew her lifeline had arrived. She exclaimed, “Professor Paul, you have to help me! I didn’t
mean to do it. I was upset with Bonnie because she mistreated my parents and got Hadwin
arrested.
“He’s suffering behind bars, for Heaven’s sake! Th–that’s why I got so worked up and did something foolish.”
“Hmm.” Paul stroked his beard and said, “You were desperate because you didn’t see
another way to deal with that. Your actions are perfectly understandable.”
“Fuck that!” Avril was so annoyed that she wished to slap the older man. “That’s the first
time I’ve seen someone shift the blame in such an outrageous way. I’m impressed. No
wonder you have your family wrapped around your finger.
“You play them like a fiddle, and they even disowned Bonnie. Hmph, you’re amazing, Trina.
You better watch it. Hypocritical people are shameless, but you’re not even human.”
Paul frowned, displeased with Avril’s words. “You’re young, but you have such a sharp tongue. I’ve been around but never met a young lady capable of such loathsome words.”
“Listen up, you old-” Avril was about to retort, but Bonnie stopped her.
