I Once Married You (Harper and Benjamin) novel Chapter 414

"Who do you think has the problem?" Benjamin glanced at him and asked coldly.

The man paused for a moment and continued, "The architect is also the person in charge of this project. Did she make a mistake?"

As soon as he finished speaking, the rest of the crowd began to whisper and discuss it.

They all agreed it was possible.

But at the same time, they were also aware that the architect was Harper, Benjamin's wife.

Someone cautiously advised, "Mr. Martin, I have an immature suggestion. We must find a scapegoat unaffiliated with the Martin Group. The architect seems a fitting choice. Of course, we all know that she is your wife and unlikely involved. It may be a misunderstanding. Nonetheless, we must address the public promptly to preempt their dissatisfaction."

"Since your idea is immature, you shouldn't have brought it up." Benjamin glared at him, his gaze frightening.

His words immediately silenced everyone.

He glanced at everyone and said coldly, "Are you planning to sacrifice a woman to help the Martin Group out? You've hastily pinned all blame on her before the matter has been thoroughly investigated. Since you are unwilling to weather the crisis with the Martin Group, leave as soon as possible!"

After that, he kicked off the chair, stood up, and walked out of the meeting room without catching a glimpse at them again.

Everyone looked at each other with a long face and did not dare to entertain this idea again.

When Benjamin went back to the office, his cell phone rang.

At the sight of the caller ID, he grew increasingly impatient but finally answered the call. "Hello?"

"Benjamin, are you okay? I just found out about this serious matter because my communications device was blocked yesterday for concert preparations. I heard of the crisis at Martin Group from Rue. Is there anything I can do to help?"

"I'm fine. I don't need your help. It will be solved soon. Don't worry."

Benjamin's voice was gentle, yet his face was as gloomy as before.

Lauren whispered, "Benjamin, this matter shouldn't pose any difficulties for you, right? Would you like me to ask my close friends to announce their support of the Martin Group on Twitter?"

"No need."

"I just want to help you. Benjamin, please don't reject me, okay?"

Benjamin said seriously, "Lauren, addressing this matter goes beyond mere Twitter posts. If you genuinely wish to be helpful, don't do anything."

"Okay, I promise you." Lauren added, "Well, I shouldn't have disturbed you at this juncture, but I wonder how your investigation is going on that matter. Are there any clues?"

Benjamin knew exactly what she was referring to.

He narrowed his eyes slightly and said expressionlessly, "Mayby is big. Finding someone is almost like looking for a needle in a haystack. What do you recall about him other than his appearance? If you remember other details, it might be quicker."

"Not yet. If there is, I will definitely tell you at once."
