I Once Married You (Harper and Benjamin) novel Chapter 428

Lauren wondered what the consequences would be.

She asked in a low voice, "Benjamin, are you going to help Harper deal with me?"

"No, but do you think she will tolerate this?" Benjamin asked coldly.

Lauren suddenly paused and then asked, "Benjamin, you will support me, right?"

"Lauren, what actions do you suggest I take to support you? Your actions have already disappointed Grandpa. If I side with you, will I still have a say in the Martin family and the Martin Group in the future?"

Benjamin was insinuating to Lauren that halting her work and concerts, along with other related actions, were not his desires but rather directives from Paul.

She thought, "What can he do?

Naturally, he has to follow the instructions without daring to refute anything."

Lauren was speechless.

Paul was so important to Benjamin that he would never disobey Paul.

Lauren had to suppress her dissatisfaction.

Feeling helpless, she could merely heed Benjamin's counsel.

She was silent and lost in thought for a long time before saying, "Okay, I'll listen to you and apologize to Harper."

Benjamin warned Lauren that if she didn't apologize to Harper now, a public apology would be required when Harper accused her. By then, everything she had told reporters would be considered lies, which would have an extremely negative impact on her future.

However, Lauren didn't expect to be criticized by netizens, regardless of her choice.

Upon hearing Lauren's decision, Benjamin narrowed his eyes and said, "Okay. You've made up your mind, so do it now."

Holding the mobile phone, he opened the car door, turned on the speaker, and said, "I'm with her now. Go ahead."

Harper was puzzled. Benjamin raised his fingers to his mouth to hush her.

She nodded.

Under Harper's gaze, Benjamin pulled out his mobile phone and activated the recording function. The call, originating from Curtis' mobile phone, featured Lauren's voice.

"Harper, I apologize for the trouble caused by today's public opinion. I didn't say those things to the reporters on purpose, but they deliberately misled me. I hope you can forgive me, okay?"

Harper subconsciously looked at Benjamin in confusion.

But Benjamin stared at her gently and winked at her to respond to Lauren's words.

Frowning, Harper said indifferently, "You claimed you were led astray by reporters into uttering those words. Ms. Davis, do you lack wit or discernment? Is it truly so simple to be deceived? Besides, since you dared to do so, why did you bother seeking my pardon?"
