I Once Married You (Harper and Benjamin) novel Chapter 435

Benjamin glanced at Curtis. "What is it?"

Curtis handed Benjamin the examination reports he had taken from the medical examiner. "It's as you guessed."

Benjamin reached out for it and read it.

The examination reports clearly stated that the deceased could only survive more than one month due to stomach cancer.

It became clear.

Fully cognizant of his terminal illness, the deceased's family declined to authorize an autopsy out of fear that Benjamin and the police would uncover this fact.

Now, it seemed that everything was planned.

Benjamin squinted his eyes coldly and said, "Ask Officer Conrad to show them these examination reports. I wonder how they are going to explain it."

Curtis nodded, got out of the car, and walked into the police station.

He gave the reports to Owen. After reviewing it, Owen asked, "Is this true?"

"Of course. This is the authoritative examination of the medical examiner, and everything is testified."

Owen explained, "It's not a doubt, but I need to ensure the authenticity before taking the next step."

"I understand. Officer Conrad, thank you for your hard work. Can you allow the family to take a look now?" Curtis asked respectfully.

Owen nodded and went to the monitoring room with Curtis.

He passed the examination reports to the others. He and Curtis stood in the control room, waiting.

A police officer displayed the examination reports to the family of the deceased and asked, "Did you know that the deceased had advanced stomach cancer?"

They looked at each other and denied it. "Officer, what are you talking about? We don't understand you. He was healthy. How could he be sick? Don't talk nonsense!"

Facing their denial, Owen gazed at them seriously and pointed to the examination reports on the desk while saying, "You may not admit it, but the evidence is now irrefutable. If you continue to conceal the fact, both your immediate family members and your collateral relatives will be implicated. If you don't believe me, we can give it a try."

Owen immediately called someone over, gestured towards the deceased's family members, and said, "Detain them all, and notify the court that we will sue them in the name of the police station. They lied and made up false stories to deceive the police officers, which is already a violation of the law."

Mark was dumbfounded to hear that it was illegal.
