Kimberly finally grasped Benjamin's intentions completely.
If he simply wanted her to remind Jennifer to be more careful with her actions, a phone call would've sufficed; there was no need for her to visit the Martin Group in person for this call.
It turned out he wanted Jennifer to admit what she had done to Harper in her own words.
Kimberly furrowed her brows tightly, realizing that this man was never meant to be hers; the fact that he could speak up for Harper to this extent spoke volumes. It was evident that Harper meant something significant to him, right? Otherwise, why would he go through all this trouble just to give Harper justice?
Another person equally stunned was Jennifer, especially after hearing Benjamin's voice. Only then did she realize who Kimberly was with at the moment.
She questioned, "Kimberly, where are you?"
Kimberly lightly pressed her lips together, no anger apparent in her eyes as she responded quietly, "I'm at the Martin Group. You shouldn't have done that. No matter what, she's your daughter and part of our family, why did you do this?"
Upon hearing that she was at the Martin Group, Jennifer immediately grew furious. "Kimberly, why are you treating me like this? Is Harper threatening you?"
"Mom!" Kimberly felt helpless and feared that Jennifer might say something even more hurtful, so she promptly ended the call.
Benjamin glanced indifferently at Kimberly. "Why didn't you continue listening?"
Kimberly pressed her lips lightly. "Mr. Martin, you've heard all you needed to know. What's the point in continuing?"
Benjamin remained silent, only staring at her with a cold smile.
Kimberly asked, "Mr. Martin, are you really going to use that recording to sue my mother? Although Harper's relationship with the Mitchell family is somewhat distant, she's still part of it. If you do this, everyone in our circle will know about Harper's strained relationship with us. Although it doesn't matter with the Martin family backing us, does Harper truly not care?"
Kimberly didn't want to see the members of the Mitchell family tearing itself apart, especially not at this time.
Neither the family nor the Mitchell Group could withstand the negative consequences that would come with it.
Seeing Benjamin's lack of response, she continued softly, "I can apologize to Harper, and I can assure you that there won't be a next time. I'll tell my mom not to meet Harper or Grandma again. I just hope you can give her a chance. Because of what happened before with the Mitchell Group, my parents haven't been the same since then. Can you?"
Benjamin didn't respond, and just looked at her lightly.
Clearly, he couldn't.
Kimberly grew anxious. "If Harper agrees to this, can you give this a chance?"
Because she felt it might be easier to convince Harper than Benjamin. If Harper agreed, she would apologize willingly. She simply didn't want to escalate the situation, as the Mitchell family couldn't take this blow.
But in the end, Benjamin didn't give her an answer. His meeting was starting, so he had Curtis escort her out directly.
After leaving the Martin Group, Kimberly hesitated for a long time before contacting Harper.
But when she dialed, she didn't know how to bring up the matter.
Harper asked, "What's up?"
