I Once Married You (Harper and Benjamin) novel Chapter 525

Chapter 525 Taking the Initiative

Lauren had just arrived at the hotel lobby when she cut straight to the chase. "I need to see Benjamin. Is he available? It's about something that happened a year ago."

Curtis glanced at Benjamin, who narrowed his eyes, his expression unreadable.

He nodded slowly, and Curtis immediately responded, "Ms. Davis, Mr. Martin has another meeting soon, so there might be..."

"I just need a moment. Then I'll be on my way. Can I please see him? I'd really appreciate it," Lauren pleaded, fearing Curtis might refuse.

Curtis appeared slightly troubled but said, "Ms. Davis, I understand your special place in Mr. Martin's heart, so I'll make an exception and let you up. However, you mustn't say I allowed this, especially now. We can't afford any negative media attention."

"Alright, I understand. Thank you, Mr. Yost," Lauren said.

Hearing Curtis's words, Lauren mood visibly improved. She generously showered Curtis with thanks.

Especially after Curtis mentioned her significance to Benjamin, her spirits lifted even more. She knew Benjamin still cared about her despite what Frank had said. After all, she had nearly died for him.

That was of immense importance to any man.

As for Harper, she was merely a wife by alliance.

Benjamin could never truly love her, nor could he feel anything for her.

Lauren nodded, more convinced of her thoughts. She told herself not to trust Frank too much; he was intentionally misleading her for his purposes. While the goal was important, she preferred to have Benjamin by her side to atone for a lifetime rather than let Frank destroy him.

Lauren arrived at the door of the room number Curtis had given her, took a deep breath, and then pressed the doorbell.

She felt nervous, as it had been a while since she last saw Benjamin.

Her hands clenched unconsciously, her heartbeat pounding loudly.

Then, the door opened.
