Elizabeth walked away a little, and then called James.
He seemed to be busy. When she called him, he didn't answer.
She thought for a while and sent him a message. It was better to tell him. If he didn't agree, she wouldn't go. Otherwise... If he got angry again, it might not be easy for him to forgive her.
Before the message was sent out, he called back.
She picked up the phone. Before she could say anything, she heard him say at the other end of the line, "I didn't pay attention to the phone just now. What's going on?"
Elizabeth looked back at Leo, who was holding his arms and waiting for her against the wall. Then she answered, "Oh, here's the thing... Leo agreed to my design today, and then... he wanted to treat me to dinner..."
She didn't go on, but it was obvious what she wanted to ask. Leo wanted to take her out to dinner and she wanted to ask James if he'd agree.
"Just two of you?"
"Yes," she answered honestly.
After a moment of silence, he said, "Okay, that's fine."
"Really?" When Elizabeth heard this, she couldn't help but be stunned. She thought she had heard it wrong. In fact, she had thought he would refuse. But now he just agreed.
Was he... really going to let her grow up on her own and not interfere with her?
"Really. It's fine." After saying this again, he thought for a moment and then said, "Didn't you say that he approved your design? Anyway, he gave you a chance to show your talent. It's right to have dinner with him. Remember to go home early after dinner."
"..." Elizabeth was stunned for a moment, and then replied, "I see." Unexpectedly, he wasn't jealous but thought so much on her behalf. She really felt surprised.
"By the way, I also have a banquet today. If I finish early, shall I come to pick you up?"
"Sure!"
"Then send me your position when you go to the restaurant, okay?"
"Okay. And..."
She was going to tell him to drink less. But she heard that he was talking to someone and asking them to wait another half hour. Then he said to her, "Are you still hearing?"
"Yes."
"Well. Have a good dinner. Don't be hungry. I have something to deal with. So that's it then?"
"Okay."
He had said that he had something to deal with, but he was not in a hurry to hang up. "You hang up first."
Elizabeth felt warm in her heart but did not dare to delay his time. She just replied sweetly and hung up the phone.
"Look at yourself. You're laughing too hard!" No one knew when Leo came and stood behind her. He couldn't stand and shook his head
"..." Elizabeth put away the smile on her face and looked at him with some depression. "It's really impolite to eavesdrop on people's phone calls, you know?"
However, Leo just shrugged his shoulders and said, "I'm obviously listening openly. When did I eavesdrop?"
Elizabeth was speechless. She couldn't help but complain in her heart, "He doesn't look like a piano prince at all. He just looked like a rogue!"
But the little rogue gave her a chance to show her talent and value, so...
"Let's go. Aren't we going to eat?"
Leo raised his eyebrows and smiled, "What happened? You asked for leave?" After that, he snorted, "Isn't it just a dinner? Why do you ask for leave from your family like a primary school student?"
