Elizabeth and Evelyn took a taxi to the art exhibition. Standing outside the gate, Elizabeth looked at the person and name on the post and was a little stunned, "This is really Sebastian's art exhibition?"
Although her major was design, she always paid attention to painting.
Sebastian was a painter who suddenly became famous a few years ago, and he was known as the most talented and promising abstract painting master. There were layers of meaning in his paintings, but the tickets were hard to get. When he held painting exhibitions before, someone even said, "Can you crazy people buy the tickets slowly? I don't even know what the ticket looks like!"
Evelyn nodded, "Of course!"
"It's difficult to get the tickets to his exhibition." As Elizabeth said this, she looked at Evelyn and said, "How did you..."
Evelyn raised her head proudly, "I have a wide range of contacts in this city. Isn't it easy for me to ask my acquaintance to get two tickets for us?" Although she said so, she thought in her heart, "No, I'm kidding. It was your husband who bought the tickets."
Her major was design, too. Although she was not as excellent as Elizabeth, she had some dress sense. But as for painting... she really didn't quite understand. She really couldn't appreciate such a high-end art.
The reason why she asked James to buy the ticket was that Elizabeth liked it. Moreover, she knew that Elizabeth appreciated Sebastian.
"Oh, is that so?"
"But..." Evelyn laughed, "I got the tickets indeed, but I don't have the ability to let you see Sebastian. Sebastian is so mysterious that it is still unknown whether he's a man or not and what he looked like."
Elizabeth didn't care whether she could see Sebastian or not, "We are not here to see Sebastian. As long as we can see the paintings."
"You are right!" Evelyn said in agreement, "Let's go in and see the paintings."
The color of the decoration in the exhibition hall was mainly white, and even the lights were white and unconventionally shaped. The whole place looked elegant and simple, very pleasing to the eye.
On both walls of the corridor, Sebastian's paintings were hung up at a certain distance. Although there were not many people in the exhibition because of the number limit, there were quite a few people inside. Someone would give comments to the paintings from time to time, but their voices were all low.
Elizabeth and Evelyn walked while watching the paintings. Then Elizabeth stopped in front of a painting and stared at it, lost in thought. It was a painting with the night as its backdrop. In the distance, there was a thatched cottage. It was not big, but not shabby either. Next to the thatched cottage sat a person wearing a straw hat, and beside the man was a tree. The tree was tall, but there weren't many leaves on it. In the sky above the thatched cottage, there was a red sun that didn't seem to match the backdrop. Nearby the thatched cottage was an upside-down super big grass-made broom.
Seeing Elizabeth stop, Evelyn had to stop. She looked at the painting for a long time, but she couldn't understand its meaning.
After standing there for a while, Elizabeth still didn't leave. Evelyn looked around and then whispered to her, "Elizabeth, let's go. What's point of looking at such a broom? Besides, it's so dark that it makes me feel depressed! Besides." She pointed to the sun in the picture and said, "Even if it's an abstract picture, it should be logical, shouldn't it? The sky is dark, but there's actually a sun. It really makes me puzzled."
Elizabeth smiled gently and then shook her head, "No."
"What?" Evelyn was a little confused by Elizabeth's words, "Don't tell me this is not a sun. How could a moon be so red?"
"This is a sun." Elizabeth still didn't move, "Think about the meaning of the painting again."
