James drove very fast. He stared at the road ahead with his lips tightly pursed.
The car was as fast as an arrow that had left the bow, driving past at a dizzying speed.
"Isn't it improper for us to leave like this?" Elizabeth grabbed the seat belt tightly and asked hesitantly.
Just now in the living room, James didn't wait for his parents to speak and didn't pay attention to Zena's expression. After saying that, he took her away.
After a while, James said, "No."
"Well..." Elizabeth looked at his side face and said, "I understand your mood, but your words seemed to be a little hurtful just now. After all, Zena is a girl, and... Xavier was still there. You didn't show respect to them."
James smiled and asked absent-mindedly, "Really?" "Of course."
"Maybe." James said faintly, and his face darkened more and more. He did not say anything else, because there were something that he didn't want her to know.
He was so irritated that he rolled down the car window. Holding the steering wheel with one hand, he lit up a cigarette with the other. However, smoking did not make him feel better. He still frowned and seemed to be in a bad mood. "What's wrong... with you?" Elizabeth looked at him, "You look unhappy."
James flicked the cigarette ash and said, "Nothing. Maybe I'm too tired recently."
"Oh." Elizabeth nodded, "I know that you're tired recently and have lots of things to worry about. You should rest more. Don't worry about me. I will adjust myself. Do your own things and rest more recently."
"Okay, I know."
"By the way, Sebastian, no, Xavier. Is he really your cousin? Why didn't I hear about him from you before?" If she didn't see Xavier that day and didn't see him personally in the gallery, she would never believe that the painter whom she admired so much would be a close relative of James's family.
James pondered for a moment, and then nodded gently, "Yes."
Seeing this, Elizabeth knew that he didn't want to talk much about this, so she didn't ask more. She just said, "However, I really didn't expect that he would be your relative." After that, she snorted at him, "No wonder you said you knew him and said those strange words. You said that he was lofty. You kept me guessing deliberately, didn't you?"
After that, she asked excitedly, "Hey, do you have a good relationship with Xavier? You..."
Did they have a good relationship?
Hearing this question, James raised the corners of his lips. He seemed to be smiling, but his eyes were dark. He looked ahead and was a little absent-minded. They should have a good relationship, right? At least they had a good relationship a long time ago.
Perhaps it was because of the difference between their personalities, he was naughty when he was a child, but Xavier was very tolerant, always looking elegant and modest. When they played together, even if he went too far, Xavier would always smile and forgive them.
Sometimes afterwards, he occasionally saw those soap operas when he turned over. Children in the family didn't like adults comparing themselves with other children, especially when they really made a mistake.
In the past, he was the same.
Although his parents doted on him, they always asked him to learn from Xavier after he made mistakes, because he was stubborn and liked to make trouble. At that time, he was always angry with their words and disliked Xavier more and more. Although he was young, he thought of ways to make Xavier angry. But most of the time, Xavier humoured him. Even if he really went too far, Xavier would only say to him with a straight face, "Jimmy, if you continue like this, I will be angry."
But that kind of words couldn't threaten him at all. He would still do what he thought was right and could vent his anger.
Later, when Xavier was nine years old, his parents divorced and he was left alone in his originally warm family. So, he was taken home by James's parents. James still didn't like him, but he restrained himself a little.
