I Only Want You novel Chapter 35

Lydia Song winked at Elizabeth Liang, and she immediately got the memo.

James Lu felt like his blood was going to boil when he saw that they were really going to leave him behind.

They really knew how to push his buttons!

"Excuse me! Mrs. Song, who's going to make me dinner if you take her away?"

"Just order takeout." Lydia didn't even turn her head. "Quick Elizabeth, change your shoes!"

"You think I wanna eat takeout?"

"Then why don't you make dinner yourself?"

"Have you ever seen me in the kitchen in thirty whole years?" James was pissed. Who knew that getting a wife would be his downfall?

"Well too bad then!" Lydia then acted worried and sighed. "I asked the driver to go home when I came here. We'll have to call a taxi then, okay Elizabeth?"

"Yes, mom."

Lydia's words immediately caught James's attention. "Hello, Mrs. Song, do you know who you are? Do you really think you should be taking taxis?"

"What else am I supposed to do then?"

"Don't bother!" James acted to be reluctant. "I'll give you two a ride!" Then as if he was afraid that they would change their minds the next second, he rushed over and put on his shoes, took the car key, and went out of the door. He walked out like a determined warrior headed into a battlefield.

Seeing that it did the trick, Lydia looked pleased. "That little punk just has a bad temper, he's actually pretty cute."

In the Grand Dynasty Hotel private room.

When they arrived, John Lu was already waiting there.

Elizabeth didn't expect John to be there at all, so she suddenly became a little uneasy.

"What are you looking at, Elizabeth? Come on, he is your father- in- law now! Call him dad." Lydia said with a smile.

"..." Elizabeth paused for two seconds, but still obediently said, "Dad..."

John nodded slightly in response, but it was still impossible to read his solemn face.

James, who of course came along with them, walked over and pulled Elizabeth to himself. "Why are you making that stone face? You're scaring my wife!"

Hearing this, John couldn't help but glare at his son.

Then he looked back at Elizabeth and said flatly, "Please take a seat."

After they'd all took a seat, Lydia began cheerfully speaking again. "Wow, my son is finally married. I'm thrilled!"

James wasn't pleased to hear that. "Why are you making me sound like a terrible catch? You can line up girls who want to marry me starting from downtown all the way to the suburbs, okay?"

"Son, I know your dad and I gave you some good genes, and you are a pretty good businessman, but would it kill you to not brag about it?"

"Ahem..." John coughed softly, cutting off the war between mother and son.

"Jimmy." John looked at James. "You're a man with a family now. I hope that you will do your best to protect your wife, treat her well, and make sure she never feels unappreciated. A happy marriage needs both of your efforts. To be married is a vow for life. Do you understand?"

"Yeah, yeah, that's enough, Mr. Lu!"

Ignoring James's attitude, John turned to look at Elizabeth again. "Elizabeth."

Elizabeth was surprised when John called her name since he was still calling her Miss Liang only a few days ago. He's directly calling her name now, a sign that he has truly accepted her.

"Dad..."

John nodded. "Please take care of Jimmy from now
