"What to do?" Xavier murmured. He seemed to be asking James, as well as himself.
James smiled bitterly and said, "I know that you blame me, even if you..." He closed his eyes and put down his hand dejectedly, "In the final analysis, I owe you."
After that incident, Xavier completely changed. He seemed to be crazy, but also was so depressive. He was in great pain. When he went abroad, he didn't talk about that thing to James's parents. He only said to them that he wanted to go abroad for further study.
James was ridiculously wrong.
He owed Xavier.
Since he had done something wrong, it was impossible for him to turn back, because he couldn't change the fact that he had hurt Xavier, even if he regretted it and had apologized to Xavier.
Over the years, he was shocked and couldn't believe it at first, and then he became regretful and blamed himself, and then he even tried to forget that incident. On the first year it happened, his pain was no less than Xavier's. That kind of deep self-blame and remorse made him feel guilty all day.
He hated that kind of feeling to the extreme. He began to avoid it deliberately and became more and more disobedient. He told himself that nothing had happened and he had never been sorry for anyone. He really gradually forgot his mistake, as if it was just a dream he had one day. However, occasionally, at the middle of night, the regret and pain would suddenly clutch at his heart, making him unable to breathe.
Xavier sighed softly and said with a faint smile, "It's all over. I said that I don't blame you. Just take it as the interest I paid you for living in your house."
Hearing this, James felt so painful in his heart, as if his heart had been hit by a big hammer. He wanted to say, "Just blame me! If you blame me, I may feel better."
"Do you have to say that?" James said with a bitter smile, "You know that my familes didn't..."
Xavier smiled as if he knew what James wanted to say, "I know. You were all very good to me." Saying this, he sighed and said sadly, "You're not me, so you won't know how it feels to live under someone else's roof..."
James was shocked. For a moment, he didn't what know what to say.
"So, you don't have to blame yourself. I don't blame you."
After a long while, James said scornfully, "You don't blame me? Then why did you do this?" He looked at Xavier and said, "You said it's not a coincidence, but I don't believe it."
Xavier didn't explain more, "Whatever."
James was annoyed. He raised his hand and wiped his face fiercely, "What the hell do you want? Tell me! Can you stop torturing me like this? What about Lu Enterprises? I can give it to you!" "Lu Enterprises?" Xavier chewed over the two words in a playful way, "Are you so generous?"
Lu Enterprises was one of the top 500 enterprises in the world. How could James give it to him so casually?
"As long as you don't get close to her, I can give it to you as long as you want!" If Xavier could stay away from Elizabeth, James didn't mind giving Lu Enterprises to him!
"Ha—" Xavier chuckled, which made his dry throat uncomfortable and he coughed a few times, "I'm not interested in her."
James took a deep breath and asked, "What on earth do you want?"
Xavier turned to look at the helicopter that was still parked there. He glanced at James blandly and asked with interest, "What do I want? Are you willing to give me anything I want?"
James's mood was extremely complicated, and he did not think too much. He nodded and said, "Yes! Just say it. As long as you think it's good."
"Okay." Xavier nodded, "What if I want your wife Elizabeth?"
"What the f*cking are you talking about?" James was so angry that he raised his fist and wanted to beat Xavier.
