It was almost 10 o'clock at night.
James was sitting alone in the living room and watching TV. Before the game was finished, he suddenly felt bored.
When he was about to get up and go upstairs, his phone rang.
After glancing at the caller ID, he answered the phone unhurriedly, "Say it."
Samuel said respectfully on the phone, "Mr. Lu, everything is ready. Shall I ask someone to get it done at one blow?"
James raised his eyebrows with displeasure, "What did I tell you before? Just put it there. I'll do the rest of things."
"Well, okay. Then..."
Before Samuel could finish his words, James pouted and hung up the phone.
Samuel, who was outside of the South Lake, felt so speechless in the wind. At least, James should hang up the phone after he finished speaking! He was so... heartless!
James held the phone and smiled faintly. Thinking about the romantic scene, he was in a very wonderful mood.
Well, he would settle the rest of things and give Elizabeth a surprise!
Just as he was about to put the phone into his trouser pocket, he received a new message. "Jimmy, you and Elizabeth should stay up late tonight. Understand?"
James read the text message and then glanced in the direction of upstairs. They were obviously close to each other. Why did Lydia have to send a message? It would be more sincere of her to say it face to face.
He leaned against the sofa and directly called her, "What do you want to do, mom?"
Lydia said happily, "Didn't I say that I'm going to prepare a surprise? If you're asleep, how can I come in?"
James pursed his lips and thought, "You once came into my room secretly! Humph!"
"What exactly do you want to do?"
"Give Elizabeth a pleasant surprise."
"Isn't tomorrow her birthday?" James flicked around between the TV channels, "Can't you do it tomorrow?"
Hearing it, Lydia said with some disdain and happiness, "I know that you're eager to do something bad. Oh, no, it's something good. Ha-ha... Although I understand that you want to give me a grandson in a hurry, you two have plenty of time. Am I right?"
James was speechless. Why must Lydia say these words so bluntly? He felt so embarrassed!
"Aren't you all going to leave tomorrow? I have to hurry up and give her the surprise tonight. Moreover, my pleasant surprise will only become more brilliant at night."
James was amused. At night? Was she going to rob them or do something else?
Before James could answer, Lydia added, "Brat, I'm talking to you. Answer me now!"
"Okay, got it."
"That's a deal. Don't lock the door from inside.”
"I see! That's it!" James hung up the phone impatiently, but he was smiling.
Lydia was in her fifties, but she prepared a surprise for Elizabeth earnestly. No matter what she had prepared, he was very grateful to her in the heart.
Just like what she had said to him after lunch, she loved Elizabeth, which meant that she also loved him.
A wave of happiness flooded James and he smiled more brightly. He... was really looking forward to the pleasant surprise prepared by Lydia.
